Uptime Institute partners with T964 to expand Iraq’s digital infrastructure

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Uptime Institute, based in the United States, and Iraqi digital infrastructure company Tech964 Holding Limited (T964) have formed a strategic partnership to help develop Iraq’s digital infrastructure, marking the latest technology agreement to result from Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s investment-focused visit to Washington. The agreement, signed earlier this month at the U.S.-Iraq Business Summit hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce, names T964 as Uptime Institute’s business partner in Iraq to promote international data center standards, professional training, and the development of resilient digital infrastructure. The agreement is part of Baghdad’s larger effort to diversify its economy beyond oil by increasing digital infrastructure, attracting technological investment, and bolstering industries including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, financial technology, and cybersecurity. T964, one of Iraq’s major private digital infrastructure businesses, has announced that it would collaborate with the Uptime Institute to implement internationally recognized standards for the country’s expanding network of data centers, as well as increase technical competence and operational best practices. The partnership is anticipated to help establish carrier-neutral data centers, telecommunications infrastructure, cloud services, and AI-ready digital platforms, all of which the government believes are important to modernizing public services and stimulating private-sector investment. The pact follows a series of technological ties announced during Al-Zaidi’s tour to the United States, during which Iraq inked more than 50 agreements totaling more than $60 billion in the energy, banking, infrastructure, industrial, and technology sectors. Improving digital infrastructure has become a key component of Iraq’s long-term economic plan, as the country strives to lessen reliance on oil earnings and establish a knowledge-based economy capable of attracting foreign technology businesses while also encouraging homegrown innovation. The alliance also underscores increased US private-sector interest in Iraq’s digital economy, especially as demand for secure data centers, cloud computing capacity, and AI infrastructure in the Middle East grows. Iraq has increasingly prioritized digital infrastructure for foreign investment alongside energy and transportation, with officials claiming that internationally certified data centers and modern telecommunications networks will be critical to supporting e-government services, digital banking, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence, as well as strengthening Iraq’s role as an emerging regional technology hub.
