The adjoining service road had also been submerged, creating further trouble for commuters. Several videos from the spot showed cars and two-wheelers attempting to cross the waterlogged road. Several bikes stalled after getting stuck in the water, forcing riders to get off and drag their vehicles through the flooded stretch.The toll plaza had been among the worst-hit areas. Water had not only surrounded the booths but had also entered them, leaving an attendant on duty sitting with their feet raised on a chair to keep them above the water.Meanwhile, expressway personnel had been working continuously to clear the accumulated rainwater. Generators were being used to operate pumps at the toll plaza as staff tried to drain the flooded area.Despite hours of pumping, however, the water had not been completely cleared even by nightfall.
