UP man ties 15-year-old son to pillar, beats him to death over stolen money

A man in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya tied his 15-year-old son to a pillar and beat him to death over stolen money, police said. The accused later placed the boy's body on a cot and fled.The incident took place on September 21 in Purva Somvanshi village in Auraiya. The accused, identified as Ummed Singh, was arrested by police on September 24. A rope and the bamboo stick allegedly used in the assault were also recovered at his instance.SON BEATEN AFTER BEING TIED TO PILLARAccording to the complaint filed by the victim's elder brother, Neeraj, he and his elder sister had gone to attend a Ganesh Puja and kirtan ceremony in the village on September 21. Their younger brother, Rishu alias Ishu, and younger sister remained at home.Police said Ummed Singh arrived at the house and, after becoming angry over repeated complaints concerning Rishu and an issue involving stolen money, tied his son to a pillar with a rope. Ummed Singh was under the infulence of alcohol. He then beat the boy with a bamboo stick, causing fatal injuries. After the assault, Ummed Singh placed Rishu's body on a cot and fled the house.After receiving information about the incident, police took custody of the body, completed the inquest proceedings and sent it for post-mortem examination. Based on Neeraj's complaint, the Sahar police registered Case against Ummed Singh.Three police teams were formed to trace the accused. Ummed Singh was arrested on September 24, police said.ROPE, BAMBOO STICK RECOVEREDDuring interrogation, Ummed Singh told police that Rishu frequently had disputes with him over the theft of money.
