United Business Class Passenger Finds Poop-Covered Blanket At Seat, Forced To Sit There Anyway

A passenger traveling in United Airlines’ Polaris business class claims he boarded a long haul flight, only to find a blanket covered in feces at his seat. The crew had nowhere to move him to, so he was forced to stay in that seat for the entire flight… only to later discover that the pillow was covered in feces as well. What exactly is going on here?! United passenger details disgusting state of seatHow could something this disgusting happen?Bottom line United passenger details disgusting state of seat A traveler took to social media to share an incident that happened on June 25, 2026, on United flight UA837 from San Francisco (SFO) to Tokyo Narita (NRT). Here’s the passenger’s version of events (which is long, but I’d like to make sure I’m doing justice to what’s claimed — I’m just adding some line breaks to make it easier to read): The feces incident happened in my flight from San Francisco to Narita Japan, flight UA837. I was flying in Polaris business class cabin. It was a new blanket in the plastic pack. It was folded nice as it should be as a new blanket. I opened the plastic and started to open the blanket to cover my body. Suddenly, my hand touched the FECES inside the blanket and I believe strongly some tiny crumbs of the FECES fell down to my trousers (at least one crumb of FECES fell on the floor). The FECES, or should I say the POOP, was not only a stain, but lots of them. I showed it to the flight attendant, he was totally shock. It was such disgusting that he even wore gloves to handle the blanket. While myself, as your VALUED CUSTOMER, touched it with my own hand. I requested to move to another seat so that AT LEAST I could leave the disgusting seat, but all seats were occupied. So I was seating on a FECES contaminated BUSINESS CABIN for at least 9 HOURS for the rest of the flight, feeling totally disgusting, could not rest, had the meal at the spot where the FECES incident happened. I was about to scream and yell at the time, but I knew if I did so, the other passenger would notice what was happening and it would not be good for United. At the end of the flight, I found out that the pillow also had a stain of feces/poop, meaning there was a high possibility that the whole seat may contaminated with feces. How disgusting it is !!! Really way too much anyone could imagine may happen at a Polaris business class. Fortunately, I did not use the pillow at that time because I did not trust the cabin cleanliness anymore after discovering the feces in blanket. I paid for business class seat for more comfortable trip but instead it was totally a suffering 9 hours flight that I will not forget. I have contacted your customer care with case ID 17**993 and the resolution given does not make sense at all. Thank you for giving me such an unforgettable lifetime experience in your proudly POLARIS business class. It goes without saying that tens of millions of people travel by air every day, so sometimes things go wrong. That’s why you’ll sometimes find things ranging from dirty seats to items in food that shouldn’t be there. If we take this story at face value, I struggle to figure out how something like this could happen. Did the blanket just accidentally not get washed before being repackaged? And it just happened to be one full of poop… or something that looks like that? Or was the blanket somehow put to the side because it was soiled, and then accidentally sent back onto a plane? It doesn’t seem like the staining was that deep, given poop reportedly fell out of the blanket when he opened it. So while it’s not crazy to see a blanket that might not have been cleaned correctly, or that has strands of hair in it, seeing one basically fully soiled is remarkably strange, especially when it’s packaged. I’m not suggesting this story is made up, though a few things have to be acknowledged. First, the user who shared this story had no posts prior to sharing this, so there’s not some inherent credibility. Second, I’m a little confused about how the blanket was wrapped, and then later the passenger discovered that the pillow (which wasn’t in the same wrapping) also had these stains? The suggestion is that they were coincidentally both stained upon boarding, or that the blanket rubbed against the pillow after it was removed from the packaging? You’d certainly think that if you discover a blanket full of feces, you’d at least check all around the seat to make sure you’re not missing anything, especially ahead of a long haul flight. I also find it interesting how it took nearly two months to make this claim. I understand the concept of wanting to go through traditional customer service channels first, but that’s still a very long time, especially since you’re almost certainly going to get the most favorable resolution if you make this as public as possible as soon as possible. Look, I’m not suggesting this story is made up. I’m not even sure what the alternative here is, given the photo evidence. It’s not like the passenger went number two in the bathroom, dumped the blanket in the toilet, and then took it back to his seat… right? But the whole thing is just very odd… Bottom line A United Airlines business class passenger reportedly made a horrible discovery at their seat, when they found their blanket covered in a feces-like substance. The poop reportedly also fell out of the blanket, and then later the pillow also had staining on it. I can’t even begin to come up with a good theory for this… What do you make of this bizarre Polaris blanket incident?
