The initial plate, “H80 RSE” which can be read as “Horse”, is perhaps the easiest of the group to identify, fetching around £17,644 in auction. Priced at £300, the registration plate “MAF 71A” eventually sold for £16,778 and spells out “Mafia”. A Ferrari fan was likely in the audience when “P15 STA” fetched £17,396 from its £200 starting price, with the plate appearing to read “Pista” – referencing the Italian brand’s iconic 488 Pista supercar. Lastly, “533 YAA” ended up being sold for a staggering £16,506 from its initial £250 price, presumably spelling out “See Yaa”. Mark Trimbee, CEO of Regtransfers, said: “Buyers will pay a serious premium for a registration with personality, and though we’d be guessing at best, we imagine that the new owner of H80 RSE is most likely an equestrian enthusiast to at least some degree.
