‘Unforgettable’ boy who tragically died after getting into difficulty in lake is pictured as family pay touching tribute

A TEENAGER who died after getting into difficulty while swimming in a lake has been pictured – as his heartbroken family pay tribute to their “unforgettable” son. His death came just weeks after another teenager drowned in the same lake. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! Iretomiwa’s family paid tribute, calling him an “unforgettable” son. They said: “Tomiwa was a vibrant, energetic, and unforgettable young man whose presence illuminated every space he entered. His younger brothers adored him, and he cared for them with tenderness, always making them smile and supporting them in every way.” They added: “He was our firstborn, our pride, and he honoured his parents by following instructions respectfully and living with discipline, purpose and integrity. “Tomiwa thrived on structure and intentional living. Most read in The Sun “He valued punctuality and was never late for any commitment.” The boy also has an “unwavering dedication” to school football practice and church programmes. And his “meticulous nature was evident in his organised routines and his sharp, stylish appearance”, Iretomiwa’s loved ones added. Their tribute continued: “Known for always carrying a comb or hairbrush and a mirror, Tomiwa took great pride in his personal hygiene – he was exceptionally neat, never shared cups, and maintained strict cleanliness in all aspects of his life. “A true social butterfly, Tomiwa made friends effortlessly and was kind to everyone he met. “He consistently sought the good of others and uplifted those around him. “His home was filled with laughter because of his unique spirit, infectious joy, and generous heart.” It comes after the death of Declan Sawyer at the same nature reserve only weeks ago. The 15-year-old also got into difficulty swimming and his body was pulled from the lake by a police diving team. He was one of almost a dozen teens who died after entering cold water during the May half-term heatwave. As temperatures rise again this weekend the Met Office has urged anyone hoping to cool off to beware of cold water shock following recent fatalities.
