They most recently drew 3-3 with League Two side Rochdale in a preseason friendly last week. Sancho, a Manchester City academy graduate, has experienced a turbulent few years since making his return from Germany. The then-teenager lit up the Bundesliga during his time at the club, scoring 54 goals and creating 45 assists in 188 matches. The return cemented him as one of the greatest young prospects in the game, and earned him a £73million move to United in 2021. He proceeded to head out on a number of loans, including one back with Borussia Dortmund. But after failing to earn a spot in Michael Carrick‘s plans or stiff enough interest from a suitor, he now finds himself scrambling for a new home. A change of scenery, and level in Al Rayyan’s case, could do the star good – though it was reported earlier in the year that he was holding out hope for a move to a top European side even if that meant taking a pay cut.
