UN says 115 vessels, 2,500 seafarers evacuated from Strait of Hormuz since Tuesday

Since Tuesday, about 115 vessels and 2,500 seafarers have been safely evacuated from the Strait of Hormuz, according to the International Maritime Organization's secretary-general. This follows an attack on a vessel that led the IMO to temporarily halt evacuation efforts for around 600 ships and 11,000 sailors. This evacuation is critical as the Strait of Hormuz is a vital global maritime route, through which a significant portion of the world's oil supply passes, making any disruption highly consequential for global energy markets.
