UK’s busiest motorway faces five days of closures starting TONIGHT with major diversion routes – check before you travel

DRIVERS are in for a weekend of chaos as the UK’s busiest motorway will undergo five days of closures – and it starts today. Disruptions include the complete shutdown of a major bridge. Signed diversions have also been put in place for drivers to follow. From tonight, the M25 clockwise carriageway will be closed from Junction 20 to Junction 21A between 11pm to 6am on Saturday. While, the anti-clockwise carriageway is also set to close between Junction 15 and Junction 14 at the same time. A number of slip and link roads will also be shut, including the Junction 9 slip exit, the Junction 3 link road and anti-clockwise Junction 20 exit slip road. The most severe disruption to motorists will come on Saturday, (September 19), with the complete closure of the QEII Bridge between Junction 31 and Junction 1A from 9.30pm to 9am the following morning. Thankfully, there will be just one closure on Sunday, but drivers are set to be slammed with another five by Monday.
