UBER Eats has revealed the shortlist for its restaurant of the year awards. Some 45 takeaway spots across London and the rest of the UK have been shortlisted and are now in the running to win the coveted title. The winning eatery will also be handed a whopping £100,000 prize to help supercharge their business. The culinary battle will culminate in a star-studded awards ceremony in London later this year, where regional winners, industry leaders, and special guests will gather to see who takes home the ultimate crown. The popular chain dishes up New Orleans inspired grub, including chicken cracklin and beef brisket doughnuts. Up in the west midlands, Libertine Burger also has a chance to take the crown. It dishes up tasty burgers and fries with diners calling it “absolutely lush.” Meanwhile, Ragin Bird in Leicester is also in with a chance to win, with the fans of its fried chicken and chips calling it an “ethereal experience.” Merve Basci, general manager of Uber Eats UK, said: “This year’s Restaurant of the Year Awards are about more than just celebrating great food – we’re also honouring our ten-year delivery journey in the UK.
