UK's best hotels and B&Bs revealed: Luxe Scottish retreat fit for 'royalty' and 'fairytale' castle in Northern Ireland crowned winners

The AA Hospitality Awards 2026 winners have been announced, highlighting top-notch establishments across the nation.Numerous accolades were handed out at the ceremony on Monday, which celebrated the finest places to eat and stay, including the AA B&B of the Year.A luxurious bed and breakfast spot in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, Lys-Na-Greyne Country House took home the prestigious award this year.Set along the River Dee, the characterful country home was built in 1912, and is surrounded by over three acres of lush gardens. Guests can choose from six en suite bedrooms starting from £200 per night, and have access to a lounge, conservatory and terrace area. Lys-Na-Greyne Country House was awarded AA B&B of the Year The Emory took home the title of Hotel of the Year for LondonFor the Hotels of the Year awards, The Emory, in the capital, scooped up the prize for the London category. The establishment offers a night of luxury in one of its 61 suites and studios in Belgravia with prices starting from £1,122 for a night in Courtyard Studios in October for two.Guests of the property are treated to daily English breakfast either in their rooms, or at the onsite restaurant, as well as a complimentary fully-stocked mini bar and a 24-hour butler. Calcot Manor & Spa in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, was recognised for England and sits in 220 acres of Cotswold countryside. The spa hotel offers a range of accommodation options – including treehouses, cottages, suites and family rooms. Prices start from £362 for a night in October. It was described by the AA inspector as: 'Unique luxury with award-winning spa and wellness facilities'.Crossbasket Castle, in High Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, was compared to 'royalty' by AA, and was awarded Hotel of the Year for Scotland.Dating back to the 16th century, the restored castle offers 50 bedrooms and boasts original features throughout. Prices start from £263 in October. Calcot Manor & Spa in Tetbury was recognised as Hotel of the Year for England Crossbasket Castle, in High Blantyre, was named Hotel of the Year for Scotland Porth Tocyn Hotel was awarded Hotel of the Year for WalesIn Wales, Porth Tocyn Hotel secured the award and was praised for its 'timeless charm' and 'rooms with sea views'.Located above Abersoch, in Gwynedd, the charming hotel offers a cosy stay overlooking the coast and set within pristine interlinking gardens. The three-star establishment offers single rooms from just £128 a night in the low season.Over in Northern Ireland, Culloden Estate & Spa was awarded Hotel of the Year and described as a 'fairytale castle with a spa and lovely grounds'.The dreamy escape boasting 150 years of history can be found in Holywood, County Down, and overlooks Belfast Lough. Guests can choose from suites, deluxe kings and family rooms, all elegantly decorated. Prices start from £207 a night in October for two. AA also recognised Inn of the Year and crowned West Yorkshire-based The Penny Bun with the title.Dubbed a 'new-age inn', The Penny Bun is centred around tackling climate change and offers five screen-free rooms perfect for those seeking an off-grid stay. Guests can grab a room for £250 a night in October, and enjoy disconnecting from the world surrounded by moody lighting and brown tones. Culloden Estate & Spa was named Hotel of the Year in Northern Ireland The Penny Bun in West Yorkshire was recognised as Inn of the YearOld Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa was recognised as Best Spa Hotel of the Year and can be found in St Andrews.Meanwhile, the AA Small Hotel Group of the Year award was given to Firmdale Hotels, in London. Group of the Year was awarded to The Celtic Collection, in Wales.
