One person was injured, according to Malkov, who also reported damage caused by falling drone debris. Ukrainian monitoring channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+ identified the Ryazan Oil Refinery as one of the targets. Videos and photographs shared by local residents showed a large fire burning at the facility following the reported strikes. Rosneft refinery among Russia’s largest The Ryazan Oil Refinery, owned by Russian oil giant Rosneft, is one of Russia’s three largest refineries, with an annual processing capacity exceeding 17 million metric tons of crude oil. The plant produces gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, fuel oil and bitumen, supplying Moscow and other central Russian regions. The refinery has repeatedly come under Ukrainian drone attacks. Following an Oct. 15 strike, one of its primary crude processing units was shut down. Another reported target overnight was a major Wildberries logistics center in Ryazan, the Russian independent outlet Astra reported. The distribution hub covers approximately 173,000 square meters. Local residents reported a fire at the facility following the strike. The warehouse was previously targeted on Aug. 29 and temporarily suspended operations after that attack. Drones also target Rostov, Voronezh regions The overnight drone campaign also extended to Russia’s Rostov region, where Governor Yury Slyusar claimed that around 50 Ukrainian drones had been intercepted or destroyed across four districts. “No reports of casualties or damage on the ground have been received. This information will be updated,” Slyusar said. In the neighboring Voronezh region, Governor Alexander Gusev reported the detection and destruction of 48 aerial targets. “According to preliminary information, there are no casualties,” Gusev wrote on Telegram, adding that falling drone debris damaged the fence of a private house and a semi-trailer in a suburb. Russian regional authorities’ claims about the number of drones intercepted and destroyed have not been independently verified. Ukraine intensifies oil blitz on Russia The latest attack also came amid a renewed wave of Ukrainian strikes against Russia’s refining industry. On Oct. 30, drones struck Rosneft’s Novokuibyshevsk refinery in the Samara Oblast. The following day, Bashneft’s Novoil refinery in Ufa, in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan, was hit. On Sunday, the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez (NORSI) refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast was targeted, while a fire broke out at the Novo-Yaroslavl refinery (Slavneft-YANOS) following a reported drone attack. On Nov. 2, drones targeted Russia’s Samara region with a likely strike on the Samara Linear Production-Dispatch Station (LPDS) near the settlement of Prosvet, where a fire was reported. The station is one of the largest oil storage facilities in Europe, with 71 tanks holding more than 1.6 million cubic meters (56.5 million cubic feet) of crude oil. Spanning more than 216 hectares (534 acres), it serves as a critical junction in Russia’s oil transportation network, where four major pipelines converge. Ukraine had temporarily paused attacks on Russian refineries following US President Donald Trump’s request to President Volodymyr Zelensky not to target Russian fuel production. However, attacks on other elements of Russia’s oil infrastructure, including transportation and storage facilities, have continued.
