The amendment, if approved by the parliament, would take effect on Jan. 1, 2027. Lithuania’s government has approved a proposal to bar Russian and Belarusian artists and other cultural figures from performing in the country if they had previously worked in occupied or annexed Ukrainian territories. The government backed the measure on Wednesday, Sept. 30, Lithuanian media LRT reported. The ban would also cover anyone who has directly or indirectly supported Russia’s war against Ukraine.
