In the southern Zaporizhzhia region, Ukrainian fire engaged a modernized Russian Buk-M3 medium-range surface-to-air missile system deployed near the settlement of Kuroshany. The Buk-M3 represents one of Moscow’s frontline mobile air defense assets, engineered to intercept cruise missiles, tactical ballistic ordnance, and combat aircraft. In the Donetsk region, Ukrainian units delivered a precision strike against a Russian military facility near occupied Donetsk used for the storage, technical preparation, and launching of strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). “Storage, preparation, and launch sites of strike UAVs of the Russian aggressors are among the priority targets,” the General Staff emphasized. “The systematic destruction of such targets is aimed at reducing the Russian Federation’s capabilities to use strike drones against Ukraine’s civilian population.” Across the international frontier, Ukrainian forces struck an active Russian electronic warfare (EW) station deployed near the municipal core of Klimovo in Russia’s Bryansk region, suppressing Russian tactical jamming networks operating adjacent to the northern border. Ukrainian precision units also targeted Russian military telecommunications hubs deployed across three contested sectors in the Donetsk region, striking signal installations near the town of Hirnyk, the railway hub of Yasynuvata, and occupied Donetsk. Concurrently in the occupied sector of the Luhansk region, Ukrainian long-range strikes hit military equipment repair and maintenance installations located in the vicinity of Vesela Tarasivka and the industrial center of Lysychansk. Sustained campaign against rear logistics and air defense The overnight operations mark the latest phase of a systematic Ukrainian campaign targeting Russian air defenses, drone infrastructure, and logistical chokepoints across occupied territories and adjacent Russian border regions. On Oct. 2 and Oct. 3, Ukrainian forces conducted precision strikes against another drone preparation facility near Donetsk alongside a tactical military crossing over the Mokri Yaly River near Novoocheretuvate, severing a key supply conduit for Russian units in the southern Donetsk sector. Across the border in Russia’s Belgorod region, Ukrainian strikes destroyed a Russian command post near Novaya Tavolzhanka and hit an equipment warehouse in Voznesenovka, while follow-on fire damaged a vehicle repair facility near Hromivka in occupied Kherson region. Degrading Russian air surveillance and air defense batteries remains a central priority for Ukrainian long-range strike units. In late September, Ukrainian forces conducted targeted strikes against two Russian mobile radar complexes in occupied Zaporizhzhia region, damaging an advanced 35N6 Kasta low-altitude detection radar near Chekhohrad and a Soviet-designed P-18 early-warning radar operating near Akymivka.
