A UKRAINIAN drone strike has obliterated another logistics centre for “Russia’s Amazon” in a further blow to Vladimir Putin’s war machine. Smoke billowed from the Wildberries hub in the Russian city of Ryazan, about 115 miles southeast of Moscow, following the devastating hit overnight. Putin crony Dmitry Medvedev – a former president and prime minister – said these reports were “lying provocation” by the Kremlin’s enemies. “This is part of the propaganda campaign ahead of the elections,” he said. “Naturally, they are trying to destabilise the situation in our country and create negative sentiment … I want to stress once again that there is absolutely no need for mobilisation. “This is a lie spread by the enemy, which is itself experiencing a shortage of manpower.” But intelligence from Ukraine and its allies suggests that Putin will launch a new recruitment drive, as Russia suffers devastating losses on the frontline.
