UK weather: All the UK areas expected to hit 35C this week as heatwave is set to return

Highs of up to 30C are expected across England and Wales on Tuesday, rising between 32C and 34C on Wednesday, and reaching 35C on Thursday. Meanwhile parts of East Anglia and the South East of England are expected to be the warmest. In response, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued an amber heat health warning for the entirety of England, excluding the North East. The alert is set to stay in place between 9am on August 11 and 9pm on August 14, meaning the weather is likely to impact health and social care services. This period of hot weather will become the fifth heatwave of the year, following record-breaking temperatures of 37.7C back in June. It comes as England and the entirety of Wales remain in drought conditions, with another six currently facing “prolonged dry weather“.
