UK supermarket chain cuts prices by up to half on over 7,000 everyday essentials including fish fingers, eggs and pizza

A MAJOR UK supermarket will roll out price cuts by up to half on thousands of kitchen cupboard essentials. Sainsbury’s said Nectar customers will have the chance to save on over 7,000 products in stores. Customers have a chance to get extra discounts on their shopping Credit: Alamy Come tomorrow, Wednesday August 5, shoppers will have the chance to save £2.75 on Pizza Express oven pizza or £1.15 on Birds Eye fish fingers. Meanwhile, shoppers can also get Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Chocolate Ice Cream Sticks for £2.25 with Nectar or £6.25 without. Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! Tropicana Original Orange Fruit Juice (1.5L) is now £3.00 with Nectar or £4.50 without. Its Taste the Difference Free Range Golden Yolk Eggs (x12) will now cost £3.53 with Nectar or £4.70 if you don’t have the card. The scheme, which will run until August 25, requires you to sign up for a free Nectar card and scan it at the till to save. Alongside getting special discounts in store, customers also earn points which can be converted into money off vouchers. You earn one point for every £1 you spend in store and 100 points is worth 50p. Richard Crampton, Sainsbury’s commercial director, fresh and convenience, said: “With the summer holidays in full swing, we’re helping customers make their weekly shop go further with Nectar Prices on more than 7,000 fresh and grocery favourites. Those who complete every challenge can get their hands on up to 5,000 additional Clubcard vouchers, worth £50.
