Its disappearance was spotted by local and regular visitor Rupert Willoughby who was left “dismayed” to discover the miniature nudist had disappeared. Praising the attraction’s “whimsical sense of humour”, he questioned whether the model could really cause offence. The attraction confirmed the tiny troublemaker had been removed following comments from a small number of visitors. Penny Dyer, director of Godshill Model Village, said: “The streaker on the football pitch has been part of the model village for many years, and for most visitors has been seen as a light-hearted joke. “However, we’ve received a small number of comments from visitors who felt it was inappropriate for a family attraction.” Most read in The Sun She said the reference had also become less recognisable over time. “Streaking was very much a feature of a different era,” she continued. “It is far less common and is no longer something that younger visitors recognise, so the model has lost much of its original relevance. “As a business, we listen to customer feedback and after considering the comments, we decided to remove her. “We appreciate that not everyone will agree with the decision, but our priority is ensuring all visitors feel comfortable and enjoy their visit.” Despite the tiny player’s retirement from the field, Godshill Model Village remains famous for its intricate scenes, hidden jokes and miniature characters tucked away throughout the attraction.
