UK ‘deeply concerned’ about Israeli strikes on Syrian air base

Britain’s special representative for Syria, Barrie Peach, said he was “deeply concerned” about Israeli strikes on the Abu al-Duhur air base, saying the attacks were “leading to the destabilisation of Syria”. “We continue to call on Israel to respect Syrian sovereignty and return to the negotiating table,” Peach said in a post on X, adding that dialogue and diplomacy could secure a more peaceful future for both countries and the region.
