UK airline to cancel all flights from airport after base closure

A REGIONAL airline with flights to a number of destinations across the UK, has announced it is closing one of its bases. Loganair has announced that it will close its Southampton Airport base at the end of October. Aircraft currently at Southampton Airport will be taken to other airports, as well as the airline’s crew. Even though the airline is closing its base at the airport, there will still be some Loganair flights. Read more on travel inspo A spokesperson for the airline said: “Following a review of our wider network and operational setup, we have taken the difficult decision to close our Southampton operating base at the end of October. “Southampton–Manchester and Manchester–Exeter services will operate for the final time on Thursday 20 August. “Customers affected by these changes will be contacted directly and will be offered alternative options where available, or a refund where no suitable alternative exists.” The airline added that the decision is also part of a wider strategic update which includes changes to operating bases.
