UFC champion Sean Strickland in ‘real bad place’ after ATV crash while not wearing helmet

UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland is recovering after ⁠being involved in an all-terrain vehicle accident while not wearing ⁠a helmet.Strickland ⁠said ​in an Instagram video that the accident happened on Monday night in Las ⁠Vegas.“Guys, I’m in a real bad place,” he said. “I let my buddy ​drive, he ‌rolled us going, ‌like, 60 (mph). We rolled like six times.”Strickland ‌showed a scratch on his head before continuing. “That was from my head smacking the ground, going 60, did not have a helmet on. I’m ‌an idiot,” he said.Strickland then showed a scratch on his ​shoulder. “That was just from rolling and smacking the concrete and the dirt. Fuck, I’m in a real bad place ⁠right now.”The fighter posted a later update in which he said he was not badly hurt. “I think I’m OK. [My friend] Chris went unconscious for a little bit, so he’s in the hospital, but I think he’s going to be alright,” he said. “He just went asleep for a little bit, but honestly, the most fun I’ve had in a very, very long time. My wallet’s a little sore. Rainbet did say they’d cover it, so that was nice. That was the most fun thing I’ve done in a very long time. I hope Chris is OK, I’ve never seen anybody go unconscious before, that was interesting.”Strickland, who has a history of making racist, sexist and homophobic comments, was involved in a motorcycle incident in 2018 that forced him into a two-year absence from the octagon.The 35-year-old reclaimed the UFC middleweight ​title ​in May with ​a split decision over Khamzat Chimaev ​at ‌UFC 328.
