But their previously disclosed purses can give us an insight into how much they’re likely to be paid this weekend. Thanks to the California Athletic Commission, we know that former dominant lightweight king Makhachev’s disclosed purse will be a minimum of £151,393 ($200,000). Garry’s purse, however, is likely to be at least THREE AND A HALF TIMES that sum, as on average UFC title challengers are paid £148,210 ($200,000). It’s worth noting that Makhachev’s expected purse will likely be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than what was disclosed by the CSAC. That’s because not all publicly disclosed purses are actually the fighter’s total take-home pay. In the case of Dagestani destroyer Makhachev, his disclosed purse will be topped up by special discretionary bonuses. The UFC’s new adjustments involving viewership numbers, subscriptions and interactions introduced to replace the cut of pay-per-view points he received before ditching the model with their multi-billion-pound streaming deal with Paramount+ will also beef up his final take-home pay.
