Two-year-old airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by an electric bike

A TODDLER has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a bike. The two-year-old was rushed to hospital yesterday at around 9pm in Clacton. Cops raced to the scene but the rider failed to stop at the scene. They have been described as wearing a grey hoodie top and a balaclava. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! The electric bike involved in the collision is described as having a scrambler design with red handlebars. Several witnesses were stopped at the scene and now police are pursuing several lines of enquiry and appealing for information from the public. Tendring District Commander Chief Inspector Stuart Austin said: “I understand the local community will be extremely concerned following this incident. “We know the dangerous and anti-social use of e-bikes, e-scooters and motorcycles impacts residents across town. We are committed to tackling the issue. “During a two-day operation at the end of last month we seized 27 vehicles and e-scooters. This work will continue. “Officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Team are working alongside specialist roads policing officers to target those who ignore the law and put others at risk.
