Two women arrested over ‘targeted’ murder of man in his 70s after body found in block of flats & cops launch appeal

Detective Chief Inspector John Bonner said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. “We are working as quickly as possible to establish the circumstances of what happened, however, at this time we do believe that this was a targeted incident which took place inside a block of flats. “We would like to appeal to anyone who may have attended Cedar House at any point yesterday in the late evening or into the early hours of this morning – who may have seen anything out of the ordinary or seen anyone behaving suspiciously. “Those people are asked to contact Cleveland Police as quickly as possible.” Officers were alerted to the death after being called by ambulance service colleagues to the property. After finding the deceased pensioner at the scene, a murder investigation was launched with two women arrested. Most read in The Sun They have since been kept in police custody as enquiries continue. The man’s family have been informed of his passing and are being supported by specially trained officers.
