Two Telangana men die abroad. One in US fire, another in Malta road crash

The 29-year-old had suffered burns to nearly 75 per cent of his body in a fire on July 25.Bharath had travelled to the US in 2023 to pursue higher education. His family members said his parents, who worked as agricultural labourers, had made significant financial sacrifices to support his studies abroad. They had also spent their entire savings on his treatment.Bharath was planning to return to India after completing his education and settle down with his family. In a separate incident, 27-year-old Mohammed Abdul Jawad from Jagtial district was killed in a road accident in Qormi, Malta, on Tuesday.Jawad was driving a Toyota truck when it collided with a trailer, according to details cited by Maltese authorities. He was trapped inside the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene.A magistrate has opened an enquiry into the accident, while Maltese police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.Jawad's family is now seeking help to bring his remains back to Telangana.AIMIM MLA Ahmed Bin Abdullah Balala has appealed to Indian authorities and officials concerned to expedite the legal and administrative formalities required for the release and repatriation of Jawad's remains.In a post on X, Balala urged the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian officials in Malta to intervene, saying the family was facing an extremely difficult situation and needed urgent assistance.He said a formal request had also been submitted by AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi seeking assistance for Jawad's repatriation.- EndsPublished By: Karishma Saurabh KalitaPublished On: Aug 13, 2026 10:49 IST
