Two teens, 17 & 19, killed after car leaves road and crashes into woodland in late-night smash

TWO teenagers have died after a car left the road and crashed into a woodland. Emergency services scrambled to the scene on Sunday evening following reports a car had left the road near Theydon Bois, Essex. Essex Police said they were called shortly after 10.40pm after a car smashed into a wooded area after leaving the B172. Paramedics treated the driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old boy, and a passenger, a 19-year-old man. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! Despite their best efforts, they both sadly died. Cops say their families have been informed and are being supported by officers. They have now launched an investigation into what happened and have made an appeal for information. Detective Inspector Mark Fraser, of the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the two people who have very sadly died. “We are working to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision and would ask anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have dashcam footage or other information which could assist our enquiries, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.” Anyone who was travelling along the B172 or Coppice Row around the time of the crash is urged to get in touch with Essex Police quoting incident 1685 of August 16.
