A file photo of a ‘Path-Sanchalan’ (route march) organised by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). | Photo Credit: Photo for representation only The Education Department has taken strict disciplinary action against two government schoolteachers in Yadgir district for participating in a Pathsanchalan (route march) organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).The suspension orders were issued on August 20 by Deputy Director of the School Education Department (DDPI) Channabasappa Mudhol.The names of the suspended teachers were given as Gururaj Joshi, working at the Government Girls High School in Hunsagi, and Annasaheb Deshmukh, working at the Government Primary School in Kuppi village, located in Shorapur taluk.According to the suspension order, these two teachers participated in RSS Pathsanchalan events organised in Talikote (Vijayapura district) and Hunsagi (Yadgir district) on October 10 and 12, 2025.A departmental order explicitly noted that their participation in the organization’s events constitutes a clear breach of Rules 3(1)(2)(3), 5 and 7 under the Karnataka Civil Services (Conduct) Rules 2021. The order cited dereliction of duty as the reason for the suspension.Under the terms of the suspension, both teachers are required to strictly adhere to government service protocols throughout the suspension period.The administrative action follows a complaint lodged by district president of the Ambedkar Swabhimani Sene, Yadgir, Jummanna Gudimani to the then Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Priyank Kharge and the State government seeking disciplinary action against the teachers.
