LOOSE Women has never shied away from airing controversial views and opinions to get the nation talking. From “extreme clothing sizes” to dismantling the Royal Family, you name it, they have probably discussed it. In the past few weeks alone the once untouchable show has lost two of its biggest stars. Nadia Sawalha, 61, left amid a row with ITV over comments relating to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Then earlier this month The Sun revealed how Denise Welch had quit the show after 25 years to focus on acting. While the panel still boasts highly bankable names, including Ruth Langsford, Jane Moore and Coleen Nolan, The Sun can reveal bosses have spent the summer cooking up a brand new plan of action to refresh the embattled show. Sources close to the show tell us they have secretly entered into talks with singer Anastacia and businesswoman Emma Grede to appear as panellists. Both are said to have been offered short two-month contracts to regularly appear on the show. Our insider said: “If we are honest, Loose Women has become a bit of a train wreck. “The past 12 months have seen scandal after scandal. Mix that with the cuts and it’s been a perfect storm. “ITV have offered both Emma and Anastacia contracts that will see them appear on the show as panellists. “Both have been on as guests so they know the set up.” The insider added: “Emma was a huge hit on Dragons’ Den and it’s hoped she would bring in a younger demographic to the show. “Anastacia is a household name and brings in a new perspective and isn’t shy when it comes to speaking her mind.” Anastacia has appeared on Loose Women as a guest many times over the years Credit: Shutterstock Editorial Emma Grede is in talks to be a guest panelist on Loose Women Credit: PA British businesswoman Emma helped co-found Khloé Kardashian’s denim company Good American. She is also a founding partner of Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS empire. Meanwhile, Anastacia has sold 50 million records worldwide. Earlier this year Loose Women underwent major budget cuts – with ITV axing 220 jobs across its network. The show has now lost its live studio audience and relocated to a small studio in Covent Garden, London. Former Loose Women panellist Carol McGiffin has now called for the show to be axed – claiming it “seems to be in its final throes”. Carol was a regular panellist from 2000 until 2013. She then returned in 2018 before leaving in 2023. But Carol didn’t hold back in her observations of how the show sits now, labelling her former co-stars “rich women whinging about the menopause”. Carol wrote in her Best magazine column: “There’s nothing worse than having to watch someone you love die a slow, painful death but it’s also painful to watch when something you loved dies a slow death. “And so it is, in my opinion, with Loose Women. It’s been happening for a while but now it seems to be in its final throes.”
