In a separate case, two British sisters were allegedly raped by two UK tourist brothers in Rhodes. The sisters struck up a conversation with their alleged attackers at a club in the island’s Old Town, it is claimed. The group spent time drinking and socialising before eventually leaving the venue later that night. All four went back to a nearby hotel, where the women separated into different rooms with the brothers, it is alleged. It was there they claim to have been attacked after initially agreeing to return with them following the night out. They reported the alleged assaults to police shortly afterwards, with cops tracking down and arresting the two suspects. And a year earlier, Greek police arrested a hotel worker after a British tourist was allegedly raped on the island of Kos. The 45-year-old victim told cops she was sexually assaulted by the 42-year-old Nigerian man in her room at night. She said she had been drinking and that the hotel employee took advantage of her condition. And in another incident that year, a Brit teenager claimed she was raped in the sea off a popular Greek island in what is said to have been a daylight attack. The 16-year-old reported the alleged assault while on holiday with her family, saying it took place at Rhodes’ Ialysos beach, directly in front of a hotel packed with guests. She alleged she was sexually assaulted while swimming with a 15-year-old Belgian boy she had met during her stay at the same hotel. The girl told officers the boy allegedly assaulted her twice while they were in the water. All incidents remain under investigation as Greek authorities continue to gather evidence and witness accounts.
