Two 11-year-old girls ‘sexually assaulted’ in underpass in broad daylight attack – as man, 59, arrested

TWO 11-year-old girl’s were allegedly sexually assaulted in an underpass in broad daylight attack. The shocking incident is said to have happened between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Thursday in Burnley, Lancashire. It’s believed the two girls – both aged 11 – were assaulted on an underpass connecting Pendle Way and Gannow Lane as well as the Adamson Street and St Johns Street area. Lancashire Police has arrested a 59-year-old man on suspicion of sexual assault. The force said they are still looking for people they want to speak to and are urging any witnesses to come forward. A spokesperson for the force said: “We know there were some people in the area who we haven’t yet spoken to, and so we are publicly appealing for witnesses today, to ask for your help. “If you saw the man, described as white, with grey hair and glasses, with the two girls, or if you saw him in the above street areas between 1:30pm and 2:30pm, or witnessed the incident take place, please get in touch. “If you have CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage that covers the area, we would be very interested in seeing it. “You can call 101 quoting log 0899 of 6th August.” Most read in The Sun
