Twisted student, 25, tells court ‘I enjoy killing children’ after ‘stabbing three kids on their way to nursery’

A TWISTED student told the court “I enjoy killing children” after allegedly stabbing three five-year-olds with a kitchen knife. Chinese national Han reportedly asked ChatGPT about the “legal consequences of… killing random victims by stabbing”. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! Chillingly, he also asked “where to find children” in Zurich. One little boy was knifed in the heart and barely survived, according to Swiss paper Blick. A second was raced to hospital in critical condition and the other had wounds to his ear and lung after the stabbing spree on October 1, 2024. Two years later on September 17, his defence lawyers have argued that he holds no criminal blame – and should be set free. Psychiatrist Elmar Habermeyer told the court that Han was suffering from acute schizophrenia, psychosis, and depression at the time of the crime. The university student was unable to control his actions, claimed his lawyers, and so should not be held responsible for attempted murder. Most read in The Sun But the prosecution has slammed this narrative as false. They point to the meticulous preparation allegedly carried out by Han prior to the attack – and to his frequent trips abroad. A sickening indictment said that Han had bought beef the day before the attack in order to practice stabbing and slashing techniques. He had also “studied anatomical depictions of the human head, neck and upper body as well as the blood vessels via Google and ChatGPT with a view to their killing“, claim prosecutors. Lawyer Hanno Wieser added: “Anyone who can travel abroad, book hotels, and find their way around a foreign city can also decide against murder”. But in a dramatic twist, Han’s lawyers claim that the travels to Prague and Warsaw were an attempt to distract himself from his murderous fantasies. His unfamiliar surroundings in Switzerland – where he moved to in 2023 for his master’s degree – were also blamed for the horror stabbings. Han had been unhappy with his new European life and was feeling “disrespected”, according to his indictment. The expert psychiatrist told the court that Han’s risk of re-offending was low – but only if he was in a “stable environment or in China”. The prosecution is now demanding a 15 year prison sentence and 15 year ban from the country. They say that Han acted out of “pure vindictiveness, a thirst for recognition, and ideological blindness.” At the end of the hearing, Han L stepped up to the lecturn and said: “I am very, very sorry. I sincerely apologize to the victims and their families. “I wish the children good health and a good life. And I apologize to the Swiss people.” Comment now
