Students should learn to face adversity with courage and transform challenges into opportunities if they are to succeed in life, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has said.Inaugurating the Thrissur Municipal Corporation’s Vidyashree-2026 educational awards at the K. Karunakaran Memorial Town Hall on Friday (July 17, 2026), Mr. Chennithala urged students not to lose heart in the face of setbacks.“Those who turn challenges into opportunities find success in life,” he said, adding that society should pay greater attention to students who struggle in the race for academic success rather than only celebrating high achievers.The Minister said taking one’s own life over poor examination marks was never a solution. “When setbacks occur, students should strive harder and work with greater determination to achieve success,” he said.He stressed that clear goals, perseverance and disciplined study could help students overcome any obstacle. He also urged students to live up to the expectations of parents who make sacrifices for their education and to become responsible citizens who contribute to society.Youth Affairs and Sports Minister O.J. Janeesh, the chief guest, said the Kerala Police had been able to strengthen its people-friendly image through the public outreach campaign ‘Operation Toofan’.
