Tucker Carlson issued a dire warning on Sunday night, claiming that the United States could be only days away from launching a nuclear strike on Iran. It’s the latest meandering claim from the often-proven-wrong political commentator, who is seemingly obsessed with Israel and has made multiple incorrect predictions and assertions about conflict with Iran. His suggestion is utter hogwash and indicative of someone who’s been relegated to peddling hysteria to remain relevant. Even without the vast resources and connections that Carlson has, I am absolutely certain there is zero chance the U.S. will launch a nuclear strike against Iran. The once-prominent Fox News political commentator said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressuring President Donald Trump to take action because Iran allegedly restarted its nuclear enrichment program in the mountains. Carlson also claimed that the only weapons that could penetrate the facilities in which this is occurring are nuclear weapons. IF YOU LIKE YOUR CHEESECAKE FACTORY, YOU CAN KEEP YOUR CHEESECAKE FACTORY“Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran,” read Carlson’s social media post on Sunday night. “The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its nuclear enrichment program. No conventional weapon in the American arsenal can penetrate 300 feet of solid granite to destroy the tunnels where enrichment is supposedly taking place. The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu has been pushing hard for one. ‘Bibi calls Trump about it every day,’ says an informed observer.” Under pressure from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Trump administration may be within days of launching a nuclear strike on Iran. The target would be Pickax Mountain in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence claims the Iranian government has restarted its…— Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) November 2, 2026 Carlson further implicated Netanyahu in the post. He claimed that the Israeli prime minister “needs this war” after the recent Israeli elections saw his party lose an outright majority in the Knesset. He also claimed that Trump would be needed to save Netanyahu’s position as prime minister and “intervene directly in Israeli politics.”“Netanyahu is cornered and desperate,” read Carlson’s post. “After last week’s election results, he can’t form a government unless Trump intervenes directly in Israeli politics and brokers a deal with other parties that gives Netanyahu 61 seats in the Knesset. Otherwise, he is out as prime minister and on his way to ignominy, investigations, and possibly jail. Netanyahu must stay close to Trump. He needs this war.”This is laughable, maddeningly inconsistent, and contradictory. First, Carlson claimed that Netanyahu is pressuring Trump to strike Iran, but then said that Netanyahu needs Trump for his political survival. But if he needs Trump for his survival, how could he have enough cachet to pressure Trump? Conversely, if he has enough power and influence to pressure Trump, why would he need the U.S. president for his political survival? Moreover, consider Carlson’s past statements. He has repeatedly spoken out against war with Iran. He predicted, falsely, that war with Iran would result in a significant number of American casualties. And in April, Carlson predicted that the president was moving us to the brink of nuclear war. He repeatedly made such warnings in the ensuing months and has been wrong each time.Furthermore, despite Carlson’s instigations and provocations, Trump has repeatedly said he has no intention of using nuclear weapons. For example, when previously asked if he would ever use nuclear weapons, Trump adamantly said no, explaining that they weren’t needed and that no one should ever use them.“Why would I use a nuclear weapon when we’ve totally, in a very conventional way, decimated them without it?” Trump said at the time. “No, I wouldn’t use it. A nuclear weapon should never be allowed to be used by anybody.”Trump reiterated his intention not to use nuclear weapons in October in an interview with Newsmax.“I wouldn’t use nuclear,” said Trump. “We don’t have to. We’re the greatest nuclear power in the world.”INFILTRATING THE LEFT: GOING UNDERCOVER AND ATTENDING RADICAL, LEFT-WING ‘ICE OUT’ TRAININGSThe U.S. is the only country in world history to have used nuclear bombs in war, doing so in August 1945 against the Empire of Japan to end World War II. It’s foolish to think that this quagmire with Iran would end the decadeslong absence of nuclear warfare. I would think Carlson knows this, too. If not, it would speak volumes about him.So Carlson is either woefully misinformed, a hyperbolic hysteric, or a social media provocateur making bombastic and outlandish statements purely to attract attention and increase viewership. Whatever the explanation, this frivolous assertion is just the latest reason why people must stop watching Carlson and leave him in the ash heap of political commentary history.
Tucker Carlson has lost his mind. No, the US is not going to preemptively nuke Iran
