And even in most of those 22 states, Trump’s approval rating is barely above 50%.The president made the claim during a sit-down interview with Sherman, who asked Trump if he was worried about Democrats winning the House in November’s midterm elections.“If Democrats do take over the House, it’s just going to be investigation mania,” Sherman told Trump. “You know, they’re going to do oversight. They could impeach you again. I mean, do you think they will?”Trump responded: “Well, a lot of people are saying I’m one of the greatest presidents ever.”Sherman stopped him there.“They’re not saying that though,” the Punchbowl News reporter said.Trump was mocked over the claim.“Delusional lunatic,” posted one user on X.“Most people aren’t saying that,” added another. “Most MAGA aren’t saying that. They’re actually very disappointed, and angry, and regret voting for you, and feel politically homeless now. I have been canvassing for my own campaign, and speaking to people all over. I know this for a fact.”Posted a third: “The reporter told him the truth but he’s so mentally ill and full of himself he can’t accept it.”Another user shared a similar sentiment.“Somebody buy that reporter a drink,” they posted.Even this Trump expert was shocked at the president’s comments on Jeanine PirroJD Vance makes case for imprisoning Trump with oblivious take on fraud, critics say: ‘Beyond parody’Trump claims the media just ‘devised’ this word.
