The remarks come ahead of planned trilateral negotiations involving Ukrainian, American and Russian representatives in November. Trump did not specify a date or venue for the proposed meeting, and neither Kyiv nor Moscow has publicly confirmed that the two leaders have agreed to meet. The announcement came just six days before the Nov. 3 US midterm elections, which will determine control of Congress.
