Nidal Hasan appears in court in 2015. Bell County Sheriff's Dept.President Donald Trump said Thursday that the government will not livestream the firing-squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan — contradicting a recent announcement by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. While publicly streaming Hasan’s execution “might have been a strong deterrent for the World to witness how America deals with Terrorists and SCUM like Hasan,” Trump said in a Truth Social post, “many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die, through streaming, or through any other visual device.”“He will die, as scheduled, by firing squad, but this event will not be streamed,” the president said. He added that the families of the Fort Hood shooting victims will be able to view the execution in person if they choose. Hasan is set to be executed on Dec. 3. He was sentenced to death in 2013 for killing 13 people and injuring 32 others. This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
