Trump orders fresh wave of missile strikes on Iran & warns nation not to retaliate as US will ‘hit back harder’

DONALD Trump has unleashed a fresh round of strikes in a furious blitz on the Strait of Hormuz after Iran tried to litter the waterway with sea mines. More than a dozen ballistic missiles have rained down on the region – targeting Iranian radar systems and military assets along the coastline. Late on Monday night the Islamic regime also bombed two commercial vessels travelling through the strait – all while attempting to litter the waterway with sea mines. In a post on Truth Social, the president said that he was battering Iran in a “very justified attack” with strikes that are “large and powerful”. He vowed that any retaliatory strikes from Iran will result in being “hit again at a much harder and higher level”. In a final bit of scabre-rattling, Trump said: “It will not be the biggest attack of them all, that is waiting in the wings and, when it is over, there will be very little left of the Islamic Republic of Iran!.” Iranian state media have reported explosions on the country’s oil-rich Qeshm Island on the northern side of the strait. Iranian news outlet Nour News also reported that eruptions had been recorded in the southern port cities of Bandar Abbas and Chabahar. With tensions spiralling once again, the cost of crude oil has shot up by 4 per cent to $94 a barrel. The US and Iran signed a peace deal back in June – but before the ink had dried the nations had resumed tit-for-tat strikes in the Middle East. The ceasefire agreement officially ended on August 17 – and so far, no new deal has been struck between the warring nations. Peace talks have churned to a standstill as Trump said in August: “They’re not going to make the kind of a deal that I feel is necessary.” It comes after Trump launched “Operation Economic Outcast” last week in which he vowed to strangle Iran’s economy until they agree to a peace deal. Crippling sanctions will be unleashed onto any nation found to be propping up the tyrant regime as part of his plans to batter Iran with “economic D-Day”.
