Trump hugs, laughs with tiger that killed UK man in bizarre AI-generated video

US President Donald Trump shared footage of a fatal tiger attack at a British wildlife park on Tuesday, captioning it “Don't ever mess with nature! President DJT”. He later posted a bizarre AI-generated video depicting himself playing with and taming a tiger, apparently referencing the animal that killed a 23-year-old man in northern England. The posts came days after William Chapman was killed by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster on Saturday. Chapman had entered the animal's enclosure and was pronounced dead at the scene. In the 23-second AI-generated clip shared on Trump's Truth Social platform, the US President is seen interacting with a tiger, wrestling with it and eventually befriending the animal. At the end of the video, Trump is seen hugging the tiger and laughing with it, while “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” plays in the background. The video followed Trump's sharing of footage of the fatal attack, accompanied by his remark, “Don't ever mess with nature!” He also posted a montage featuring wild animals attacking people. Trump's posts came as Chapman's family appealed to people to stop sharing footage of the incident, saying its circulation was causing them severe distress.“The publication and circulation of deeply offensive media content is causing ... severe distress at an exceptionally vulnerable time. We ask people to stop doing this,” the family said in a statement on Tuesday, according to British media reports. The family described Chapman as a “bright, warm and engaging young man” who had suffered from significant mental illness for several years. They said it was for the coroner to determine whether his medical history played a role in his death. The tiger involved in the incident, an endangered Amur tiger named Altai, will not be euthanised, the park said. Local authorities have launched a health and safety investigation, and the wildlife park remains closed.- Ends
