President Donald Trump has been comparing the size of his midterms rally crowds to the turnout at Vice President JD Vance’s events behind closed doors, according to insiders. Trump and Vance are both in the midst of a MAGA midterms blitz to boost voter turnout as the Republicans look set for a difficult Election Day, according to the polls. In recent days, amid a “grim” mood in the White House, Trump has been telling allies that Vance “has not drawn large numbers to events that he is headlining,” according to The New York Times. Both have been headlining events across the nation, but some pundits have noted they have been held in smaller arenas, or some seats have been empty. That has led to a furious pushback online from White House officials. There are no official attendance figures to compare. The Independent has contacted the vice president’s office for comment. White House spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez said that Trump is “the hardest working person in the country, followed by JD Vance” in a statement to the Times. He even called for the arrest of journalists after Katie Rogers, a New York Times’ White House correspondent, reported that “several areas of an upper deck were empty” at an Ohio rally earlier this month. “The New York Times, and many other Artificial Media Outlets, should be arrested for their dishonesty and disservice to our Country,” Trump fumed. “The Arena was totally MAXED OUT, including all upper sections,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “What does happen at all of my SOLD OUT Rallies, is that the people in the upper sections tend to migrate down to the Main Floor — The ‘migration’ process always happens!”Both the president and vice president have been mocked on social media for the turnout at their respective rallies. The Trump War Room X account accused one progressive account of “fake news” after it posted a photo of rows of empty seats at a Vance rally in Texas on October 13.
