CNN’s Anderson Cooper took a cheeky swing at President Donald Trump over the “assman-in-chief’s” recent lusting over Ohio Sen. Jon Husted. Last week, the 80-year-old president raved about Husted’s physique — namely his behind— during a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, telling supporters, “I looked at his ass, and I looked at the whole, and then I looked at his hands. Look at his hands. He’s got these like claws.” Trump has continued to sing praise for Husted’s muscular body, even while campaigning for a different candidate in another state. He told supporters in Greenville, North Carolina, on Tuesday that he “never studied the body of a man before,” claiming, “It’s not my thing.” “But I looked at his ass, and then I looked at his legs,” Trump continued. “I said, ‘His ass, s***, it’s like, it’s like a pile of muscle. Then I looked at his legs, and I said, ‘Man, his feet are big.’ Then I looked at his shoulders, and I tapped him on the shoulder, and it actually hurt my hand. He’s like a piece of steel. I said, ‘This guy’s a monster!’” Cooper took a crack at Trump’s recent fixation by starting Wednesday’s Anderson Cooper 360 with a clip from Seinfeld where Cosmo Kramer mistakenly receives a vanity license plate that reads “ASSMAN,” before laying into the “assman-in-chief.” CNN’s Anderson Cooper shared a video montage of times where President Donald Trump has complimented other men (CNN)“Well, big news for Kramer tonight. He is no longer New York’s most famous assman,” Cooper said after the clip. “Erstwhile Manhattanite and derriere aficionado, President Donald J. Trump, whose approval rating, according to a new CNN poll, is currently at a bouncy 32 percent thanks to all his political junk in the trunk, is once again making sure voters know that, as far as he’s concerned, Ohio junior Senator Jon Husted is an unmitigated smoke show.”Cooper later added, “The assman-in-chief says his fixation with Ohio’s second-highest ranking senatorial caboose is just a one-off. ‘It’s never been my thing,’ you’ve heard him say. But — and I do emphasize but — the beauty of the male form is not exactly forbidden fruit for him.” Cooper then launched into a montage of Trump gushing over various men. “I never did that with a man before. I examined his ass. And then I looked at his shoulders. I looked at his feet,” Trump says in a clip where he is talking about Husted. The montage then shows another clip of Trump discussing Kentucky Republican congressional nominee Ed Gallrein, saying, “This guy walks through the door. I said, ‘Look at this beautiful guy.’” Trump has spoken about Jon Husted during several of his recent rallies (Getty Images)“I actually think Mike Collins is a good-looking man,” Trump then says of the Georgia Republican before the montage shifts to a clip of him saying, “Rick Jackson’s a very handsome, distinguished, beautiful-looking guy.” Cooper’s montage then showed Trump calling Georgia Republican lieutenant gubernatorial nominee Greg Dolezal a “good-looking guy.” “You’re not allowed to say that about women or men anymore. It’s the end of your political career. But he is a good-looking guy,” Trump said. The next clip showed Trump talking about Montana Republican Sen. Tim Sheehy, saying, “I wish Tim didn’t look that good. You know, he’s a very handsome guy. I don’t like handsome guys.” The montage then aired another clip of Trump talking about Husted’s body, before shifting to a clip of him asking if Tennessee Republican Sen. Bill Hagerty is “central casting.” The compliments extended beyond male politicians, with the montage showing clips of Trump discussing the appearances of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, Kansas City Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker and former pro golfer Arnold Palmer. After the montage, Cooper noted that with midterm elections less than two weeks away, “there’s no telling where this might end up.” Trump has previously complimented other male Republicans for their appearances during public comments (Getty)The CNN host then played a clip of Trump butchering his name, calling him “Allison Cooper” instead of Anderson, and noting, “He’s been workshopping that bit for years now, I just turn the other cheek.” “As for Senator Husted, his ass may be hard, but his polling is soft. According to the latest CNN poll of polls, he’s down five points,” Cooper said. Husted, a mainline Republican, started in the U.S. Senate in January 2025 after a special election to replace now-Vice President JD Vance. Before becoming a senator, he served as Lieutenant Governor of Ohio from 2019 to 2025.While he isn't viewed as a MAGA populist, he has received financial backing ahead of November's midterm elections from major pro-Trump and Republican groups. A Marist University poll from October 18 shows Husted polling at 44 percent compared to his Democratic competitor, Sherrod Brown.CNN wasn’t the only one to make a dig at Trump’s recent obsession with Husted’s body. The Drudge Report on Wednesday gathered several headlines featuring Trump’s commentary on Husted and made each link appear in a color of the rainbow, representing the LGBTQ+ pride flag.
