After Love Island USA, Sol Dean criticized Trinity Tatum’s relationship with Bryce Alakai, suggesting he’d prefer Kayda Bosse.Trinity told Interview magazine that Sol’s comments felt “unprovoked,” making her uncomfortable despite never having negative interactions with Sol during their time together in the Villa.Trinity revealed where she and Sol really stand ahead of the Love Island USA season 8 reunion. As fans wait for the Love Island USA season 8 reunion to finally hit Peacock tonight, they might be wondering where Trinity Tatum and Sol Dean stand after their time in the Villa—especially since Sol made some comments about Trinity and her connection with Bryce Alakai that she claims were taken out of context.Well, Trinity just opened up about all of it during a conversation with Interview magazine, published on August 31. When asked whether she had “any inkling” that Sol might feel some type of way about her or her relationship, she said, “No, because I never had a negative conversation with Sol, or was even a part of her storyline. So when she came out and said the things she said, it threw me off because you can have your opinion on certain people in relationships.”Quick reminder: this all started when Sol was booted off the Villa and suggested that Trinity’s partner, Bryce, would have gone for Kayda Bosse because “he probably thinks Kayda is prettier than Trinity.”Sol later walked back on those comments on Instagram Live, saying, “I literally have no hate against Trinity. Trinity is cool as fuck. We were giggling and cackling in that fucking Villa…she was cool to me.”“Please don’t put words in my mouth. I genuinely think she’s a beautiful girl. I wouldn’t ever say anything hurtful or [mean], especially about her,” she continued. “I wouldn’t try to downplay any fucking woman of color, fucking ever. That’s just not who I am…so I literally just want to tell you guys that I think she’s fucking gorgeous.”This isn’t the first time Trinity has spoken on Sol’s comments, either. She seemingly doubled down on the response she had initially given to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live!, when she said Sol’s “unprovoked” comments were “off-putting.”Elsewhere in her conversation with Interview, Trinity also agreed Sol’s initial comments on Aftersun may have had “colorist” undertones.“This is nothing against them, and I said this in the reunion, everybody knows that Corbin [Mims] was not Kenzie [Annis]’s type. She wanted a cowboy country man, and Corbin is not any of that,“ she said, adding, “I’ve never heard any of that discourse, even in previous seasons when there were other girls that were fair-skinned with different races. So I do feel like it probably was some type of colorist comment. I honestly don’t know where her head was at, but she could’ve just kept it to herself.”As for whether Trinity thinks she could reconcile with Sol, she emphasized, “I mean, I don’t have an issue with her. I just don’t care for her because what she said is very unprovoked.”Peacock//Getty Images“How can I be friends with somebody who’s undermining my beauty?” she continued. “I just don’t think that we would be good friends, and there’s nothing wrong with that. You’re not obligated to be friends with anyone.”It seems Trinity is pretty indifferent, but I’m sure we’ll see more discussion surrounding ^^^ all of this during the Love Island USA season 8 reunion, which hits Peacock at 9 p.m. EST.
