Travis Kelce Says Adam Sandler Officiating Him and Taylor Swift’s Wedding Was “More Than We Could Have Ever Imagined”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married at Madison Square Garden with star-studded guests including Sabrina Carpenter, Ice Spice, and Tate McRae.Travis Kelce praised Adam Sandler, who officiated the wedding, on the New Heights podcast for going above and beyond and bringing his signature “Sandman style” humor and sweetness to make their wedding unforgettable. The couple hosted approximately 1,000 guests at an informal reception that mixed A-list celebrities with people from their past, creating magical moments Travis wished had lasted even longer.Swifties have received nary a crumb, let alone any inside look at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding—but, thankfully, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has finally provided some rare details from their big night. If you (somehow???) missed it, Taylor and Travis tied the knot in July with a star-studded ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Guests included Sabrina Carpenter, Jack Antonoff, Tate McRae, Ice Spice, and more, but one of the most famous attendees was actually their officiant: Adam Sandler. While the internet is still waiting with bated breath for pics from the ceremony, Travis’s brother, Jason Kelce, gave him the floor to spill more details about his nuptials on the season premiere of their New Heights podcast. Naturally, he gushed all about his Happy Gilmore 2 co-star and his involvement in the ceremony during the September 2 episode.“I can’t say thank you to everyone without [giving] a special thank you to the Adam Sandler,” Travis said. “He has been just the fucking best person on this planet. And for him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor in the way he did, in the very, you know, Sandman style and giving us more than we could have ever imagined in that moment, knowing that, it was the biggest night of both of our lives. It was, it was absolutely insane, man.”Jason echoed his sentiment, claiming that Adam went above and beyond in his role.“When you said Adam was gonna be officiating the wedding, I initially, I was like, ‘Man, he’s gonna be hilarious,’” the former Philadelphia Eagles athlete shared. “But it wasn’t until, like, right before the wedding that I realized, ‘Oh my god, he’s gonna crush this because there’s — well, I mean, obviously, he’s an entertainer, and he’s hilarious, but there’s a sweetness in everything Adam does, like all of his movies. And, like, there’s a degree of it that I think really resonates with officiating a wedding.”He went on to commend Tay and Trav for opting out of a traditional and “formal” reception to party and mingle with their 1,000 guests. He also joked about seeing A-listers among people from their past, including old school teachers.Kevin Mazur//Getty Images“I saw Brad Pitt hugging Conan O’Brien. I see Paul McCartney, and then all of a sudden I see f---ing Mrs. Clarke. And I’m like, ‘What in the world?!’” Jason joked.“It’s a night out we’ll never forget,” Travis said of the wedding earlier in the episode. “Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, from the vows to just seeing everyone, to how much fun we had, throughout the entire evening and hearing that, kind of be relayed through everybody’s stories of the night. And it was just so magical, man.”As for his one regret from his wedding day? He admitted, “I wish it could have lasted even longer than it did. It felt like it just happened in the blink of an eye.”It sounds like the night was sparkling. Don’t you ever let it go, Trav!
