Travis Kelce Finally Reveals Why He, Taylor Swift Chose MSG for WeddingTravis Kelce is detailing why he and Taylor Swift left the rose garden for Madison Square. Nearly two months after Kelce and Swift tied the knot at MSG, he shared insight into why the couple opted to host their star-studded ceremony at the New York City arena. “We wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions,” Kelce explained during the Sept. 2 episode of New Heights. “We needed it to be a private feel. MSG went above and beyond to give us that. I can’t thank everybody enough that showed up but also that helped put the show on. It was a very magical, magical night.” And the venue itself was just one part of what made the July 3 evening so enchanting. “It was so cool to see everyone from my childhood not only mesh with Taylor, but [the people] from her childhood and her family and friends,” Kelce continued, “and people that she works with to people that we’ve encountered over the course of our career and who we just admire as people and have become good friends with now.”Nodding to the couple’s 1,000-person guest list, Kelce admitted that in the months since, “It’s been so cool to see that world come together and hear person by person after the wedding just how awesome of a time there.” Meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end also shared insight into the couple’s decision to have Adam Sandler officiate their ceremony. “He has been just the f--king best person on this planet,” Kelce mused. “For him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor. The way he did it, the very Sandman style, giving us more than we could ever imagined in that moment knowing it was the biggest night of our lives.”PATRICK T. The thing I really liked about this wedding in particular and the way you guys structured it was like after all that was done, there wasn’t like the sit down formal stuff. There wasn’t a bunch of the speeches. It was just time to party and have fun.” Going on to name-drop Brad Pitt, Paul McCartney and Conan O’Brien as fellow guests, the 38-year-old emphasized, “It was amazing for me to be there.” For everything to know about Kelce and Swift’s wedding, keep reading…TheStewartofNY/GC Images; John Phillips/Getty Images for BFCWhat did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wear for their wedding? While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s official wedding photos have not yet been released, the couple was confirmed to have been dressed to the nines in Christian Dior Haute Couture designed by Jonathan Anderson, who took over as creative director for the fashion house in 2025. Instead, Swift had her brother Austin Swift act as her Man of Honor, while Kelce tapped his brother Jason Kelce to be his Best Man. As for who was heard saying speak now or forever hold your peace? Adam Sandler stepped in to be the couple’s officiant. The comedian is, along with his family, a longtime Swiftie and has been a guest on the New Heights podcast. Kelce also made a cameo appearance in Happy Gilmore 2, which Swift rated “13/10” and called “an absolute must watch.”Aeon/GCImagesWho attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding? There was quite the evergreen group of friends that stepped out at Madison Square Garden to see Swift and Kelce say “I do.” Seriously, the guest list was over 1,000 people. On Swift’s side, her longtime friends including Abigail Anderson Berard, Selena Gomez and her husband Benny Blanco, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn, Lena Dunham, Jack Antonoff, Zoë Kravitz, Ashley Avignone and Karlie Kloss could all be voted best dressed, fearless. Meanwhile, Kelce had nearly every guy on the Chiefs take part in his special day, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes, as well as former teammate Mecole Hardman Jr. and his fiancée Chariah Gordon. Chiefs coach Andy Reid, as well as owners Clark Hunt and Tavia Hunt, were also on the wedding’s lineup. But the gue$t li$t didn’t end there. The couple was supported by stars from all phases of life, including Good Morning America anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, plus actors and musicians like Jason Sudeikis, Kesha, Machine Gun Kelly, Gracie Abrams, Maren Morris and the list goes on for evermore. However, stars including Ryan Seacrest, Zoë’s fiancé (and Swift’s ex) Harry Styles and Swift’s former BFF Jaime King, whose son Leo Thames is one of Swift’s godchildren, had to skip the ceremony for their own reasons, emphasizing no bad blood. Meanwhile, Garret “Jacknife” Lee—who co-produced Swift’s “The Last Time”—thought his invite was too good to be true. His wife Melissa Garner Lee revealed in an op-ed that her husband told her he’d received “a text” from Swift’s manager inviting the couple to her nuptials, but ignored it thinking it was spam. Swift’s “Snow on the Beach” duet partner Lana Del Rey, for her part, also opted for a low-key weekend, skipping the nuptials in favor of hosting a friend’s birthday, which she confirmed on Instagram. Among other stars who were formerly in Swift and Kelce’s inner circle but did not make their white veil occasion include Dianna Agron, Keleigh Sperry Teller and Miles Teller, as well as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Although the stars were previously thick as thieves with Swift and Kelce, it appears a frost has arisen amid the friendships. Ashley Smith/InstagramWhat have guests said about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding?Despite the large scale of the wedding, guests have overwhelmingly emphasized the intimate feel of Swift and Kelce’s ceremony. "It was as intimate as it possibly could be given it was Madison Square Garden," Stephanapoulos said during a GMA segment July 4. “It was really this garden inside the Garden, which was so beautiful. It's hard to imagine a place that big, and a wedding with such stars, could feel so personal and so intimate.”For the latest breaking news updates, click here to download the E! News App
