Travis Kelce Details “Insane” Wedding to Taylor Swift: “Biggest Night of Our Lives”

Travis Kelce is officially, as he puts it, “a married man.” The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was beaming to his brother, Jason, in a new episode of their New Heights podcast on Wednesday, where Kelce spoke in depth for the first time about that all-star, ludicrously lavish wedding ceremony to pop queen Taylor Swift on July 3. “It’s been so much fun, it was insane,” said Kelce about the event at Madison Square Garden, with a guest list that boasted Jack Antonoff, Bradley Cooper, Lena Dunham, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Dakota Johnson, Jason Sudeikis, Benson Boone, Hugh Grant, Kelsea Ballerini, Camila Cabello, Karlie Kloss and Josh Kushner, Ethan Hawke, Zoë Kravitz, Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann and the Haim sisters, among hundreds of other A-listers. Kelce said it was a night that he and his Grammy-winning wife, who began dating in 2023, will never forget. “Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up. From the vows to seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening, and hearing that being relayed through everyone’s stories of that night… It was just so magical, man. I wish it could have lasted longer than it did.” He also gave a shout-out to Hollywood actor Adam Sandler, who officiated the ceremony. “He has been just the fucking best person on this planet,” said Kelce. “For him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor, and the way he did it, in the very Sandman style, and giving us more than what we could’ve imagined at that moment, knowing that it was the biggest night of our lives, it was absolutely insane man.” The football star joked that at the end of the ceremony, “once the drinks stopped being served, everyone [started] to mosey out.” He continued: “But thank you to everyone at MSG… We wanted it to do it somewhere where we could have a very intimate and genuine setting without a lot of distractions and we needed to have a private feel, and MSG went above and beyond to give us that and I can’t thank everybody enough, that showed up but helped put that show on.” Eyebrows were certainly raised when rumors of the MSG wedding gained traction. It proved to be a savvy move from Swift and Kelce as intense security and privacy measures were undertaken. On Thursday, ahead of the rehearsal dinner, The Hollywood Reporter spotted a white tent being raised up to the door of the VIP entrance to the arena. In front of the Garden’s main entrance, THR heard that another, red curtain had gone up. Police officers were stationed in packs around the venue, particularly on 7th and 8th Avenues. Snipers were stationed atop MSG, with surveillance helicopters heard overhead. Numerous streets around the arena were also closed to vehicles and, in some cases, pedestrian traffic. The guests themselves remained enshrouded in secrecy as black cars were seen driving into a large white tent, with the entrance set off by black curtains, shielding attendees from nearby prying eyes. We’re still waiting on those hotly-anticipated photos from the wedding — it remains to be seen if the couple will ever release footage or images from inside the event — but their team did confirm on July 2 that the superstar singer-songwriter and her then-fiancé had made $26 million in charitable donations to more than a dozen organizations across the country. THR revealed that Swift wore a custom haute couture gown by Jonathan Anderson of Christian Dior. Kelce also wore a haute couture look by Anderson for Dior. The event marked the first time Anderson has designed a couture wedding dress for a celebrity of Swift’s stature, and both the bride and groom wore Christian Louboutin shoes. Swift wore Cartier jewellery.
