After an entire decade-plus without a new Transformers experience, and no, the delisted Transformers: Battlegrounds doesn't count, there's nothing more that a Transformers fan wants to hear than word of a new title. Because, as far as the franchise is concerned, there is no shortage of toys and collectibles or comics, but the one thing it's lacking is a new video game, particularly after Reactivate was unceremoniously canceled. Well, it looks like hope is back on the menu. As first spotted on Reddit via YouTube content creator RoboGamerHD, a new Transformers game is reportedly in development, and "secret" invites are being sent out for players to test the game. A full reveal is seemingly imminent, as pre-registrations are reportedly set for July 2026. And if that wasn't enough hope, the game will be G1 focused. Transformers Fans Have Been Waiting On Something Where things get interesting is that nearly two years ago, it was rumored that Microsoft was working on not one but two Transformers titles. At the time, Reactivate was already announced, so it gave fans hope that there would be multiple projects. Reactivate was canceled, and the only rumored title was a Vampire Survivors-like spin-off. Flash forward to today, and we're no closer to a new Transformers title than we were two years ago. In fact, Transformers fans learned a year ago that yet another title had been canceled, one that would've featured a hybrid style between G1 and Michael Bay's live-action movies. In the interim, nostalgia for the classic War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron titles has yet to leave the minds of gamers. Thanks to a fan-run Backwards Compatibility wishlist website, one that even Xbox themselves directed fans to, the games are seemingly more popular than ever. In fact, six of the Top 10 games on the wishlist are all Transformers titles, with gamers having outsized hope that Microsoft's ownership of Activision could lead to a relisting of them, or at the very least, additions to the Backwards Compatible program. Both Cybertron titles, plus Devastation, Dark of the Moon, Revenge of the Fallen and the first movie tie-in game are in that Top 10, showcasing just how many gamers want something related to the franchise.
