Tragic mum-of-four, 38, recorded heartbreaking final video message to boyfriend while trapped in burning building

A MUM of four recorded a tragic final video message to her boyfriend as she fought in vain to escape a raging inferno, an inquest heard. An inquest into her death opened at Rochdale Coroners Court heard that the horse-loving mum used her final moments to contact her partner. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! The heartbreaking footage showed several bottles and containers on fire and that Laura could be heard saying that she is “in a set of stables and cannot get out”, the inquest opening on July 28 heard. Firefighters attended the scene and extinguished the fire, but Laura was tragically found dead in the farm stables in Milnrow, Greater Manchester. Assistant Coroner Michael Salt said a full inquest would be held at a later date to establish the full circumstances. “The circumstances of the lady’s death are not yet fully known, however given the information we have already it is clearly an unnatural death and therefore a full inquest is needed,” he said. A neighbour said that the mum had been renovating the barn and was living in a mobile home nearby while making use of the stables. However, she did have a partner, to whom she sent the tragic video of her last moments after she became trapped in the burning building – but the man remains unnamed. A man in his 40s was arrested following her death. He has since been released with no further action taken as police now believe there was no third-party involvement. Thick clouds of black smoke billowed into the air as the fire raged. Moving tributes were paid to Laura on social media, where she was remembered as an ‘amazing person who will be deeply missed.’ Ex-partner David Jacobs, with whom she has a son, wrote that the pair were “devastated” by the news of her death. Another friend wrote ‘I’m absolutely shocked, I used to see Laura and the kids every morning and night walking past our house up the lane! “I’m so sorry for your loss and huge love goes out to her beautiful children!! Heartbreaking!” A date for the full inquest has not yet been set.
