A babysitter was taking care of Briella along with her sibling when the tragic incident happened. Boynton Beach police said that the babysitter left the house to go to a shop and left the children in the hands of their spouse. The children were not under their complete supervision as they remained upstairs, while the children were downstairs playing. They occasionally came down to give them snacks. A Palm Beach County Medical Examiner report declared that she died from probable positional asphyxia, and ruled her death as an accident. Positional asphyxia is a type of suffocation where the body’s position prevents them from breathing properly. Cops said: “This investigation remains active and ongoing.” “The Boynton Beach Police Department will not be making any additional statements at this time.” Investigators said that the kitchen playset had been bought second-hand via Facebook Marketplace. It bore no markings of the brand, manufacturer or model.
