Tragedy as body found in search for missing soldier, 22, as cops probe ‘car ramming’ & disturbance at house

A BODY has been found in a river during the frantic search for a missing man. Liam Potts, 22, was last seen at 12.20am on Saturday heading into Wylam from Wylam Bridge in Northumberland after a night out with friends. Liam was last seen wearing black joggers, black Nike trainers and a black T-shirt with white text and a diamond logo on the back, and a gold chain, as police released a CCTV image. Extensive searches were carried out, with specialist officers from Northumbria Police’s Marine Unit making the sad find in the River Tyne close to Wylam Bridge today. Officers said Liam was on the bridge at the time but he wasn’t in the vehicle, and it’s not believed he was injured. Two men, aged 22 and 23, were arrested in connection with the crash and have been bailed. Liam, who was described as a white man, 6ft 3ins tall, of medium build with dark hair and tattoos down his right arm, is a soldier, serving with the Coldstream Guards.
