Traffic grinds to a halt on M3 with lanes shut after ‘multi-vehicle crash’ as drivers are warned of hour-long delays

TRAFFIC has ground to a halt on a major motorway following a multi-vehicle crash as drivers are warned of long delays. The M3 in Surrey is closed between Junction 3 and Junction 2 eastbound, near to the M25. A section of the M3 has closed as commuters face long delays National Highways said lanes one and two are closed but lanes three and four have since reopened. Commuters can expect delays of more than 60 minutes upon approach with images showing traffic ground to a halt on the carriageway. Emergency services have also raced to the scene following the crash earlier this morning. The Sun has contacted Surrey Police for comment. Around 130,000 motorists use the M3 every day with many heading towards the M25 and into London.
