In just a few weeks, the summer off-season will end and CBS's fall 2026 lineup will premiere. Instead of waiting until the middle of the month, the Eye Network is kicking things off a tad early this year, with Tracker season 4 debuting on October 4. Viewers have a lot to look forward to when Justin Hartley's hit series returns, following its major transformation towards the end of the 2025-2026 TV cycle and into the off-season. Tracker season 3 ended with major reveals. After the end of the mystery about Ashton Shaw's death, it started a couple of new narratives, stemming from the revelation of Colter's safehouse and Russell Shaw's fresh mission. Unlike previous years, Tracker is kicking off season 4 with an intact cast, with all of Hartley's supporting characters set to return for a fresh cycle. That said, an exit scare that CBS has officially reversed sets up an exciting reunion for the survivalist. Not much can be deciphered in the shot, but the actors' body language suggests that it's an intense reunion, which makes sense, considering what happened at the end of season 3. Check out the image below: After tracking down the facility that held the last remaining test subjects of their dad's experiment and freeing them, Russell was tasked to end the whole thing by taking out the man behind it, McIntyre. However, after being presented with damning information about his father and brother, he decided to follow his bidding without telling Colter — objectively a bad move, albeit rooted in love, considering how secrets tore their family apart for years. According to CBS's official release, the brothers' reunion in Tracker season 4 will have something to do with Russell reaching out for help when he finds himself in a tricky situation. For the first two years of the procedural, Russell appeared once every year. That changed in Tracker season 3, when he came back multiple times, increasing his involvement to the point that there were theories that he was going to be promoted as a series regular. His unexpected decision with regard to McIntyre's offer posed a hurdle, and even floated the idea that he would be off of the show for quite some time. After all, there was no urgency to resolve the matter. Luckily, Hartley's series has realized that it is better when Russell is around. Ultimately, it's safe to assume that Russell and Colter will patch things up. The fact that the older Shaw brother's decision was born out of good intentions will make it easier to forgive him. That being said, it's very important that Tracker properly addresses the matter and not just breeze through their reconciliation. If not, it would cheapen the plot.
